What is YWAM?
In 2016, I joined Youth With A Mission. YWAM has over 1,100 ministry locations internationally with 15,000 full-time 'volunteers'. What do we do? Discipleship. Compassion Ministry. Evangelism.
Young people gather from around the world to encounter God, get trained, and be commissioned into life as missions. The whole purpose is to know God, and make Him known.
Missions is simply the call to the people around us. Whether that be through Gospel crusades in Uganda or teaching English to foreign university students in Sydney, our call is simple and clear, to love God and love our neighbor.
YWAM training provides a platform for young people to put their faith into action, and fulfill the great commission - at home, at university, or overseas.
Life lived with God
At 19, I attended a Discipleship Training School through YWAM on the Sunshine Coast in Australia. God met me.
He invited me to let go of my life. To leave behind control, timidity, insecurity, and pride. I was terrified. I didn't know what was on the other side of my Yes.
In India on our outreach, the beauty of His freedom and the power of His spirit was all too clear. Bodies were healed. People were delivered. The Gospel transformed human hearts.
God free'd me of fear and filled me with a joy and boldness that was independent of my failures and fully dependent on His son. His love brought security. Wholehearted obedience brought abundant life.
I joined staff with YWAM in 2017 and haven't looked back. It's been a great privildge to watch countless young people be set free and filled with purpose as they encounter God!
I'm currently based in Sydney, Australia working with a small team pioneering YWAM Sydney Newtown in the heart of the city.
